Congrats to June Buyers!

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Congrats to all of my June buyers that closed in the last week! One closed yesterday, just in the nick-of-time to receive the move-up tax credit. Enjoy your new homes!

Possible Tax Credit Closing Extension

Monday, June 14th, 2010

There is a bill right now that might be passed, extending the tax credit closing until October 1st 2010. This would give more people a chance to close on their property so they could claim their $8,000 or $6,000 tax credit.  The transactions that need a little more time are mostly short sales and foreclosures - anything that the bank is involved in. I’ll keep you posted!

Buy vs. Rent: Minneapolis, Minnesota Named One of the Best Cities to Buy

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

Exterior House Photo

According to Research done by Bloomberg Newsweek, Minneapolis is the number 1 city to buy, when you look at the cost of renting vs. owning a home. The median price has dropped in the last few years to a more affordable level, where it might make more sense for you to buy a home. Although buying a home vs. renting a home has different benefits for different people.

Cities that I specialize in are Eden Prairie, Chanhassen, Chaska, Bloomington, Victoria, St. Louis Park and the entire western metro.

Life in Real Estate - A little of this and a little of that

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Busy spring = less blogging!

It has been a great start to the year in the real estate world. A lot of home buyers have been able to take advantage of the tax credit, which actually comes to an end tomorrow - April 30th. I have made a lot of great new friends and can’t wait to see how they transform their new houses into a home. Most of my clients purchased move in ready homes this year, although three of them took on the challenge of fixer-uppers! I will have to see if I can get my hands on some of the challenge seeker’s before and after photos to share.

If you wonder what I have been up to in 2010, here you go! Year-to-date I have sold 7 single family homes and 3 town homes.  Of the single family homes one was new construction and two were foreclosures. In February, one of my listings sold within 2 days of being on the market! These home sellers priced their home right and had done a lot of updates throughout - new kitchen and baths - which everyone loved! Working with such wonderful buyers and sellers makes my job so much fun!!

Real Estate Frequently Asked Questions

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

I recently added to my website a Home Buyer Frequently Asked Questions page and a Home Seller Frequently Asked Questions page.  In addition to these questions, please let me know if there are any that you would like me to answer! Send me an email.

Also coming soon, I’m working on posting information about neighborhoods.  Since I am a Eden Prairie Realtor, I will be starting with Eden Prairie and then expanding to the surrounding areas, such as Chanhassen, Bloomington, St. Louis Park, Edina, Chaska and much more. There will be information, photos and some will have video.

Expansion and Extension of the Home Buyer Tax Credit

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Both the House and the Senate passed the bill to extend and expand the home buyer tax credit. It will go to the President today for final approval. I have been careful not to post information about this too early, but now I feel pretty confident it will be effective soon.

This bill will allow first-time home buyers to purchase up to April 30th and still receive the $8,000 tax credit. In addition, the bill has increased the income limits for those eligible to receive the first-time home buyer tax credit from $75,000 as a single filer to $125,000. If you are married the limit was $150,000 and is now $225,000. It also allows move up buyers that have been in their home for 5 or more years to receive a $6,500 tax credit, which is new and exciting.

Much like the second quarter, the third quarter of 2009 housing trends continued in the right direction. Over the summer months, sales activity was up in most markets, new and active listings were declining or stabilizing, time on market decreased, and we continued to work through much of the foreclosure inventory, many times with multiple offers. - Information from Bob Peltier, Edina Realty President

The fall Parade of Homes runs through October 4th, so there are still a few weeks to get out there and visit the model homes.  It is a great time to get decorating and new home ideas. This year the Remodeler’s Showcase was combined with the Parade starting the second weekend in September.

If you are looking for a newer home please contact me and I can share with you what is available in the Twin Cities area.
